The loss of an angel

Today I learned that a friend that I knew through business had committed suicide this past week. All who worked with her said the same thing, she always had a smile on her face and was one of the sweetest people that they knew. Unfortunately she wore the mask well and turned to none of her closest friends for help.

During the past few weeks I've been writing about the economical downturn and the effects on if not all, certainly on most of us. I am shaken to the core to have learned of this young woman's death. She was only in her early 30's and had the soul of an angel. So much life and so much to offer the world, lost in the flash of a moment.

I urge all of my readers to take the time to truly listen to their friends, loved ones, co-workers during these stressful times. It is so important to have another person to talk with, vent your frustrations and gain some clarity on the events and stressors in your life.

Please, take the time to love yourself and your neighbor. Reach out to your friends, your church or synagogue or your local mental health options if you feel that you are in need of comfort or advice.

In loving memory of Katia...you will be greatly missed by all of us.

In love and light,
Dr. Arlene G. Krieger
